More Differentiated Wipe Detection
Until now, the wipe detection only considered provided wipe information extracted from the name and the description of the server. This worked well enough to find most of the wipes out there. But not always server owners provide such information. They just regularly wiped their servers or were wiped on forced updates. Those wipes haven't been recognized until now. Therefore a second detection method was added, looking for particular server attributes indicating a wipe. Both method have there pros and cons. They now work together trying to be as precise as possible.
Wipe Types Added
Instead of only marking fake wipes, four types of wipes have been added. Those are: regular wipes, test wipes, fake wipes and rewipes. Fake wipes and regular wipes are the ones used before. Now there are also test wipes, presenting wipes of servers only setup for testing that are not listed on default for you. Rewipes are inbetween regular wipes and fake wipes. So if servers wipe again (at least telling us they did) and there was no impact on players (because there were not many online), it is considered a rewipe instead of an actual wipe. This is important to calculate correct statistics in the future.
Upcoming Detailed Statistics
By collecting more precise wipe data, it is possible to generate more extensive wipe statistics and from that detailed server ratings. For every wipe, player logs are archives and important milestones are generated, like the time the server got filled to be playable nicely or looked dead. This data will be accessible for you in the near future listing all wipes as detailed as possible.
